Blerim Destani was born on April, the 12th, 1981, in Stolberg, Aachen (Germany). He spent his childhood in Tetovo, a town in Macedonia situated at the foot of the Sharr Mountains (Bozovce). Blerim discovered his passion for acting at a very early age. Merely a 14-year-old, he made his first venture into the world of acting, featuring in the movie “Where No Sun Rises”. Part from the production of the short feature documentary, he started his education in the art of acting in Cologne and London.

In 2004, Blerim starred in the lead role “Beni” in the TV movie “Metropolis”, produced by Sunaj Racha. In 2005, he played the role of “the Soldier” in the feature film “Kosova – a Desperate Search”. The film deals with the consequences and effects of the Kosovo war.

In 2007, Blerim fulfilled the leading roles in the movies “Shestani” and “Time of the Commet”, based on a screenplay by Fatmir Kochi, and produced by L.A.R.A Enterprise.

At the International Film Festival in Durres, the “Time of the Commet” was awarded the “Golden Gladiators for Best National Film”, whereas at the Prishtina Film Festival, Blerim won the “Audience Award”. The leading role of “Shestani” was a milestone of Blerim’s acting experience, thus far crowning it with such a distinctive leading role. This role deepens and further emphasizes Blerim’s strong presence on the cinema screens, and serves as irrefutable evidence of his acting potential on many levels.

In 2008, Blerim started his steady climb towards international stardom.
He played the role of “Rudy Huber” in the movie “At the World’s End”, screenplay by Andres Thomas Janses and produced by Tomas Villum Jansen. He also played the “Conductor” in “Separation City”, screenplay by Tom Scott and directed by Paul Middleditch, under production of New Holand Pictures. This performance was yet another cooperation with world movie stars such as Rrhona Mitra, Thomas Kretchman and Joel Edgerton.

In 2009, he performed the role of “Gary” in the Hollywood movie “Get Low” (Script by C.Gaby Mitchell and Chriss Provenzano, produced by Aaron Schneider) playing along the acting icon Robert Duwall as well as other big screen stars such as Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek, Scot Cooper, Lucas Black and Bill Gobbs. “Get Low” was produced by Dean Zanuck and the Zanuch Company.

He played the role of “Nazim Tahiri” in the Belgian movie “Dosier K”, screenplay by Carl Joos and Erik Van Loov, directed by Jan Verheyen, and produced by Eyeworks Film & TV Drama Production. In this film Blerim performs along with Belgian cinema stars such as Koen De Bouw, Werner De Smedt and Hilde De Baerdamaeker.

Blerim appears as “Giso” in the German movie "Die Wanderhure", screenplay by Gabriele Kister and directed by Hansjörg Thurn. Blerim continues his acting career kindled by the verve of the renowned cinematography icon Bekim Fehmiu, of whom Blerim is quoted saying: “Above all, Bekim Fehmiu as a shining STAR keeps lighting the way for generations of actors. I am just one of them. His work and success have always been an authentic guide to me. I am proud to feel the admiration towards his work coming from people of the arts, everywhere I go. This is a magnum opus of cultural heritage to us Albanians and we need to honor it with proper respect.”
